National Middle Schools Forum

1)
Middle Schools Fit for the 21st Century

Now is a good time to reflect on the relevance of the middle school system to the future educational needs of our children.

This report was originally written to support middle schools facing reorganisation in Bedford and Dorset. It has now been extended with the help of Jenny Symonds (Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge) and will perhaps stimulate some discussion and debate about the future direction for middle schools in a rapidly changing educational landscape.

Visit the Reports page of the Forum website to download the report:

I would welcome comments and suggestions on the report and how the arguments presented in it might be developed.
