Annual General Meeting
October 21st 2005
1. Chair's introductory remarks
Ian Bradbury reflected on his year as Chairman and proposed that Steering Committee consider appointing the Chair for at least two years to enable the holder to be more effective in their role of leading the work of the Forum.
2. Treasurer's Report
Simon Davies reported that subscriptions this year had risen again to give an income of £10,300.00. After expenditure during the year the closing balance was £18,746.23. The meeting accepted the accounts unanimously.

3. Executive Officer's report
The Executive Officer presented a report of the work undertaken over the last 12 months, noting the support given to member areas and the links established with national bodies.
Members should be receiving Newsletters at least termly by email – if not please let the Executive Officer have your correct email address.

4. Launch of the new Forum website
The new design of the website was well received by members. The possibility of adding a closed discussion forum for members to share current issues will be explored. The possibility of incorporating a page for celebrating and sharing good practice will also be explored – but would be reliant on schools or area representatives suggesting examples.
5. New fast track procedure for Foundation status and middle schools.
Nigel Wyatt presented a paper resulting from a meeting at the DFES to explore the new fast track route to foundation status in relation to schools facing reorganisation proposals.

6. Introduction of Chair for 2005/6 - Sue Kennedy
Sue Kennedy, Greneway Middle School, Hertfordshire, introduced the conference to be hosted by Bedfordshire in 2006.
