Development Plan

The following areas were proposed as possible areas for next development plan:

  • Sharing information on association websites - the Somerset Association will explore making their information available through the Forum website.
  • Sharing information on workload restructuring and its effects on management structure, management points and non-contact time.
  • Develop links with teacher training institutions running middle years ( KS2/KS3) courses to promote careers in middle schools (see list below).
  • Recruitment - production of publicity and leaflet promoting careers in middle schools for distribution to colleges. Consider advertising in First Appointments supplement of TES.
  • Flag up on website middle schools with experience of involvement as training schools or with the Graduate Teacher programme.
  • Consider a day conference at a central location to explore further the experiences of the project middle schools in implementing the 2 Year KS3, and perhaps workload restructuring.
